Engineering Data Administrator

Cubed Talent is working with a leading manufacturing business in Shipley to recruit a Engineering Data Administrator/Cleanser on a fixed-term contract basis. This is a specialist project role supporting a major SAP implementation, focused on refining and cleansing the company's active parts library to ensure all data meets the required standard ahead of go-live.
If you have a meticulous eye for detail, a solid engineering background and experience working with PLM or MRP systems, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile business transformation project.
What the Role Involves
Identifying and updating part descriptions in line with set standards
Reviewing combined data from two database records (IBS & JDE) to identify and resolve duplicates
Obsoleting duplicated parts, including removing them from parent structures and updating SIemens NX assembly drawings where required
Identifying parts with incorrect units of measure, creating replacements and obsoleting originals
Updating remarks for IBS parts with duplicate descriptions to ensure uniqueness
Adding technical documents (supplier data sheets) to all released PI parts
Archiving single-use parts and parts with no parent structures
Populating Customer Tooling CT document information and reviewing drawing issues prior to release
Populating new SAP Material Master fields not currently held within the IBS Part record
What Our Client Is Looking For
Qualifications & Knowledge
HNC in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent)
Familiarity with British and ISO standards for part number and description conventions
A keen interest and practical understanding of engineering principles
Experience distinguishing between manufactured-to-drawing parts, proprietary parts and bills of materials
Experience
3D solid modelling and 2D drafting - components and assemblies
Use of a PLM system for drawing, documentation and project control
Experience with MRP systems and part databases
Previous data cleanse project work would be highly desirable
Skills
CAD (solid modelling and drafting) essential - ideally Siemens NX but other CAD software knowledge will be considered
Aras PLM experience advantageous
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions based on data interpretation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

CNC Turner

Cubed Talent is proud to be partnering exclusively with a growing precision engineering business in Guiseley to recruit an experienced CNC Turner. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a tight-knit, skilled team where your expertise will be truly valued and where there is real scope for growth as the business expands.
You will work within a small turning department, jointly responsible for five CNC lathes, taking each job from initial programming right through to final inspection. The role demands a high degree of skill and ownership, this isn't a button-pushing role. You'll be expected to programme, set and run your own work, produce quality components and take pride in what you make.
About the Company
Our client is a well-equipped precision engineering company, operating with a small but highly skilled team, they run an impressive array of plant including eight Haas Milling Machines, three Doosan CNC Lathes, a Haas ST-20Y mill turn lathe - with a further Doosan 2600M being added in May 2026.
The business has recently expanded into the automation sector, bringing new and exciting work through the door. With hands-on leadership from the Managing Director and a clear plan to grow both headcount and machine capacity over the coming years, this is a business with real ambition - and they want people who share it.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the full turning process from start to finish, including:
Programming CNC lathes using Alphacam CAM software
Setting and operating Doosan and Haas lathes
Machining a variety of materials including aluminium, stainless steel, specialised steels and brass
Handling batch sizes ranging from one-off prototypes to production runs of up to 400 parts
De-burring, quality checking and final inspection of finished components
Working both independently and collaboratively within the turning team
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
Strong, proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes - Doosan and Haas specifically
Proficiency in Alphacam
Experience machining a range of metals to tight tolerances
The ability to manage the full manufacturing process autonomously
Experience on mill turn lathes would be a distinct advantage
A reliable, quality-focused approach and the ability to work well in a small team

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you'll play an integral role in the month-end reporting cycle, delivering accurate and timely financial information to support both finance and non-finance colleagues in making informed business decisions.
You'll also contribute to maintaining a strong control environment, working within SOX, CFAP and CEAP frameworks - making this an excellent role for someone keen to develop their compliance and cost accounting expertise.
The day to day will include:
Monitoring, querying and reporting of manual inventory adjustments
Developing and maintaining Inventory SOX controls and compliance testing
Updating bill of material costs and investigating costing queries
Variance analysis, standard cost updates and overseeing automated system ledger close
Preparing cost of sales and inventory journal provisions
Balance sheet reconciliations and supporting forecasts for cost of sales, margins and inventory levels
Assessing cost/benefit of Capex and efficiency proposals
Participating in the planning and execution of externally audited annual stock takes and WIP checks

We're looking for a candidate with experience in a similar role, producing journals and working to tight reporting deadlines, ideally within a manufacturing environment with MRP or ERP systems but this is not essential. Strong double entry knowledge and a solid grasp of basic costing principles, along with good all round knowledge of financial accounting systems and procedures are all essential, as well as at least a level 4 AAT qualification.
Candidates studying towards a formal accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA) is desirable. Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS or a SOX-controlled environment is also desirable and any involvement in systems or process improvement projects would be a bonus.
