About the role:
As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll be the backbone of the production operation, ensuring that the machinery runs smoothly and efficiently. From conducting PAT testing to ordering machine spares, your expertise will keep our processes running like clockwork. You'll have the opportunity to develop new ideas to enhance machining and production processes, making them more cost-effective and efficient. Key responsibilities will include:
- Read and interpret electrical drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct PAT testing across the site and maintain records using PAT guard software.
- Log work orders on Shire CMMS to track machine history and maintenance.
- Order machine and factory spares as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
- Perform planned maintenance on machines to prevent downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Provide training on factory machines to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for machine servicing and maintenance.
- Utilise your knowledge of pneumatics to maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
- Develop machines, both electrically and mechanically, to improve processes.
- Take an active role in Health & Safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.
About you
- Flexible electro/mechanical engineer, adept at handling a variety of tasks
- Apprentice Trained/Time served Engineer
- Recognised qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 18th Edition
- PAT Testing
- Previous experience with antiquated machinery and the ability to modify to enhance OEE

Using the company ERP & computer systems to view and progress orders for spare parts
Generate shipping documents
Check status of orders and provide updates to customers and internal teams
Arranging collections with freight forwarders
Using the courier software to prepare waybills
Resolve customer queries
Resolve packages stuck in customs
Logging details into imports system
Providing import clearance instructions to customs and carriers
Arranging collections from suppliers and customers
Arranging for customers parts to be returned after rectification
Skills & Experience Required:
Knowledge of import/export processes is essential
Understanding of Incoterms and customs formalities
Strong IT skills
Organised and diligent with strong attention to detail

Design Engineer

Cubed Talent is pleased to offer a new opportunity for a mechanical design engineer to join our client; a specialist in the design, manufacture and install of mechanical handling equipment, with over 40 years' experience in the industry.
As design engineer, your role will be focused on assisting in the design of customer projects, included but not limited to site surveys, equipment/machinery design and installation support.
This is a small business with strong foundations; supported by a large global group specialising in capital equipment manufacture. You'll join an experienced team of 5 within the design department, supported by the technical and general managers.
Key responsibilities include:
To design & produce detailed drawings using 3D SolidWorks & 2D AutoCAD.
Preparation of workshop, layout and Installation drawings.
Preparation and supply of installation documentation.
Purchase and control of project outsourced items.
Liaise with customers, vendors and other third parties.
Assist the production team in the fabrication & assembly of manufactured items - on design related matters.
Assess cost and methods of work for efficiency improvements throughout the production process.
Some UK and overseas travel may be required as part of the site survey and installation stages. This is expected to be no more than 3-4 times per year, for 1 to 2 weeks at a time. All travel expenditure would be covered by the company in these circumstances.
Candidate specification:
You'll be an apprentice trained mechanical engineer with experience of designing using SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD. Ideally, you'll be from a background of mechanical handling or machinery manufacture, but this is not essential provided you have experience designing mechanical components. You'll have the ability to design mechanical equipment from scratch and design new concepts, as well as improve and refine existing designs.
