Maintenance Engineer - electrical or mechanical bias (double day shift)

They operate as part of a multi-billion-dollar international group with a commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainable manufacturing.  The Role We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join a well-established maintenance team. You will play a key role in keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and continuous improvement activities across a range of production machinery and equipment. Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and wider production teams, you will help drive reliability, reduce downtime, and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment. You will take ownership of getting equipment back on line as quickly as possible, managing both temporary and permanent repairs, and supporting the implementation of Preventative Maintenance (PM), Kaizen, Overhaul, and Total Production Maintenance (TPM) programmes. This role requires a time-served candidate with a strong depth of knowledge across both electrical and mechanical maintenance, and a genuine aptitude for safety, quality, and people leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead, direct, and review the work of Maintenance team members, providing hands-on technical support to minimise equipment downtime. Establish effective communication and feedback channels across maintenance management and production departments. Ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact production output or quality. Assume responsibilities of team members in their absence to maintain continuity of operations. Support the implementation and improvement of PM, TPM, Kaizen, and overhaul programmes. Attend meetings as required and take ownership of any assigned actions. Manage associate-related issues within the team in a fair and timely manner. Maintain and develop technical expertise, utilising all available resources. Fulfil administrative and other duties as assigned, including being contactable out of hours when critical information is required. Skills & Experience Required Time-served with a strong depth of knowledge across both electrical and mechanical maintenance — essential. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently at all levels. Proven ability to coordinate and monitor team performance and equipment reliability. Some project management experience, with a focus on improving reliability. Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure. Positive approach to Health & Safety and 5S. Ability to motivate and encourage a team to achieve targets. Competent with relevant office software applications.
