About the Role
Join one of the world's most technically respected names in the design and manufacture of specialist capital equipment - a business with decades of engineering heritage, a global customer base, and facilities in West Yorkshire, the USA and Asia.
This is a focused project role responsible for ensuring the on-time, in-full delivery of a specialist tooling product range to a global customer base. You will take ownership of manufacturing priorities, lead time reduction and inventory management - working cross-functionally across Engineering, Production, Stores and the Commercial team to deliver a seamless manufacturing process. You will also identify and implement process improvements that strengthen the business's market proposition and protect its reputation with customers.

Salary: £50,000 per annum
Contract: 6-month fixed-term

What You'll Be Doing
- Taking the manufacturing lead in proactively reducing lead times and driving on-time, in-full delivery of tooling orders
- Accurately transferring customer demand between ERP and MRP2 systems and creating Production Works Orders
- Co-ordinating tasks across Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Stores and Despatch to complete orders and projects on time
- Managing sub-contractor purchase orders and supplier relationships with accuracy and timeliness
- Formulating and implementing inventory strategy for raw materials and finished goods
- Providing manufacturing feedback to the Commercial team
- Supporting the resolution of customer complaints in collaboration with the Quality department
- Identifying and implementing improvements to current processes and procedures
- Developing strategies to support the delivery of overall business objectives
- Supporting development trials as required
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Knowledge
- NVQ Level 3 minimum; apprentice-trained Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes at both component and assembly level
- Understanding of order management, inventory management and supplier management
- Competent in MRP systems - accuracy and efficiency essential
Experience
- Manufacturing experience gained in a technical or capital equipment environment
- Experience of production scheduling and customer-facing communication, both written and verbal
Skills & Attributes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and OneNote)
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical data clearly
- Strong organisational skills and a results-driven approach
- Proactive problem solver - able to make sound decisions based on data
- Self-motivated, adaptable and able to build effective working relationships at all levels
- Safety, quality and environmental awareness embedded in day-to-day approach
