As a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of the company on-site at customer facilities worldwide. You will install, commission, repair and maintain highly sophisticated high-speed machinery, working directly with major manufacturers to keep critical production lines running at peak performance. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex mechanical challenges in a fast-paced environment - and who wants to see the world while doing it.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: £40,676
With Service Pay Premium (80%): £73,216.80
Annual Bonus: Up to £2,200

What You'll Be Doing
- Installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of high-speed machinery on customer premises - such as packaging machinery, printing machinery etc.
- Producing detailed visit reports covering all activity carried out during time on customer sites
- Updating technical bulletins and keeping customers informed of the latest product developments
- Identifying opportunities for machine upgrades and enhancements with customers
- Working independently and managing your own workload while deployed at customer sites, often for extended periods
- Acting as a trusted technical ambassador for the business in front of a global customer base
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Time-served apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer
- Sound knowledge of packaging machinery
- Off-set lithographic printing experience would be advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a mechanical fitter, production engineer, printing engineer or similar - ideally within a capital equipment manufacturer
- Experience working remotely on customer sites for extended periods preferred
- Systematic and practical approach to fault finding

A Note on Travel
This role involves approximately 200 days of travel per year, both within the UK and internationally. It suits someone who genuinely enjoys working across different environments and cultures, and who is organised and self-sufficient when working remotely. The company provides full support for all travel logistics.
