This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring that business processes and products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer expectation. Acting as the voice of the customer, you will play a key role in embedding a “Total Quality” culture, driving continuous improvement across manufacturing, assembly, supplier quality, and internal systems. The Opportunity As Quality Assurance Engineer, you will facilitate business functions to ensure they operate in line with the company’s Quality Commitment and Policy. You will support departments in improving processes, resolving non-conformances, managing supplier quality, and reducing the impact of poor quality. This role combines hands-on investigation, cross-functional collaboration, and systems development — ensuring that quality is embedded into every aspect of the business rather than simply inspected at the end. Key Responsibilities You will promote a “Total Quality” ethos across all business functions, acting as the voice of the customer to ensure process owners are accountable for quality performance. You will investigate internal non-conformances and component failures, resolve customer complaints, and facilitate supplier approvals, audits, and performance improvement initiatives. You will support the development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), conduct internal audits, create and review inspection reports, and proactively improve internal systems. Additionally, you will monitor Quality KPIs, support enterprise change management, and provide reporting to inform senior leadership decision-making. What You’ll Bring You will have a minimum HND, Engineering Degree, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with formal Quality training (e.g., CQI / IRCA). Experience in auditing, mechanical engineering practices, and production techniques such as machining, fabrication, welding, and casting is essential. You should be confident investigating faults, interpreting engineering drawings, and driving process improvements across teams. Experience of ISO systems, Lean tools, and data-driven problem solving will be highly valued. Technical Knowledge & Expertise Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards Familiarity with mechanical engineering production techniques (machining, fabrication, welding, casting) Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Quality tools Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience with ERP/IT systems such as IBS or JDE Why Join?
