The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production Scheduling Coordinator to join a well-established engineering team in Shipley. This is a pivotal role sitting at the heart of the business, with interactions spanning design, engineering, quality, purchasing, stores, assembly and despatch — making it ideal for someone who thrives on variety, cross-functional collaboration and keeping complex moving parts running smoothly.
You'll harness the MRP2 process to coordinate production scheduling across multiple departments, ensuring customer orders and project deadlines are met with precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Sales during the quote phase to provide accurate lead time estimates and ensure Engineering meets target issue dates
- Verify data integrity of part setups and ensure timely Make/Buy decisions are made by Production Engineering
- Produce precise production schedules and maintain the MRP Exception Listing
- Collaborate with Finance to perform standard cost build-ups on Make parts and enable timely release of production work orders
- Monitor and manage schedule adherence across departments, proactively resolving conflicts or delays
- Act as a key communication link between functions to ensure seamless order fulfilment
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in a production scheduling, planning or supply chain role
- Competent and confident using MRP2 systems
- Strong understanding of Bills of Materials and Routings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office — particularly Excel
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business
Desirable:
- Background in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience working within a complex, multi-department production operation

- £32,626 base salary (with annual increase pending to £33,768)
