We are partnering with a well-established and highly respected engineering organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of complex, high-precision machinery used globally. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Shipley.

This is a key role, responsible for interpreting customer specifications and designing bespoke machinery solutions. You’ll create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, generate accurate BOMs, and provide technical support across Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and after-sales functions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret customer requirements and ensure machine orders are issued into manufacture on-time and in-full
• Produce 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings (components, assemblies, installation, pneumatic/hydraulic circuits, etc.)
• Generate and maintain BOMs in both MRP and PLM systems
• Support ongoing design improvements and product development
• Assist Manufacturing, Assembly and Quality teams during build and testing stages
• Provide technical input to Sales and Project Management for quotations, specifications and customer discussions
• Assist with document creation, machine manuals, SOPs and ECNs

About You:
• Apprentice-trained Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
• Strong 3D and 2D CAD skills – ideally Siemens NX
• Experience creating detailed BOMs and using MRP/PLM systems
• Knowledge of BS8888 standards and design for manufacture principles
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
• A meticulous, organised approach with strong problem-solving ability

Previous experience in special purpose machinery is beneficial but not essential.

We are pleased to be working with an established, multi-disciplined engineering group to recruit for a software/PLC controls engineer for their specialist automated machinery division. From large-scale industrial facilities to complex turnkey automation projects, our client deliver end-to-end engineering solutions to clients across the UK.    The role We're looking for a skilled Software / Controls Engineer with a strong electrical engineering foundation to join their automation team. You'll develop, modify, and optimise PLC programs and industrial robot systems for a variety of manufacturing and production line applications - working both in-house and directly on customer sites. No two projects are the same. You'll be troubleshooting live systems one day and commissioning new automated machinery the next, collaborating closely with electrical, mechanical, and production teams throughout.   What you'll work with Siemens (TIA Portal / Step 7) Allen-Bradley (RSLogix / Studio 5000) Mitsubishi (GX Works / GX Developer) ABB Robotics Omron SCADA / HMI   What we're looking for You'll have a solid electrical engineering background - whether through a degree, HND, or equivalent hands-on experience - and proven PLC programming experience across multiple platforms.
