The Role You'll be working as part of a close-knit machining team on a straightforward day shift pattern, operating and setting CNC machinery to produce high-precision components to tight tolerances. What You'll Be Doing Supporting new and existing business development to advance, compete and differentiate world-class conveyor/handling systems from the competition Leading the development, performance and maintenance of commercial processes to maximise efficiency, service quality and profitability Collaborating with project engineers and customers to deliver optimised, cost-effective engineering solutions Reviewing and developing operational processes to enhance the design function and improve customer communication Travelling UK and internationally to support business growth and customer relationships What We're Looking For This role calls for someone who combines technical depth with commercial acumen - a lateral thinker who is as comfortable reviewing a SolidWorks model as they are negotiating a commercial proposal. What You’ll Bring You will have a minimum HND, Engineering Degree, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with formal Quality training (e.g., CQI / IRCA). Experience in auditing, mechanical engineering practices, and production techniques such as machining, fabrication, welding, and casting is essential. You should be confident investigating faults, interpreting engineering drawings, and driving process improvements across teams. Experience of ISO systems, Lean tools, and data-driven problem solving will be highly valued. The Role We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering team, working on the design and development of complex mechanisms, machine systems and assemblies. This is a genuinely varied role that spans the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to supporting manufacturing, assembly and commissioning.
