About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive SHEQ Advisor to take ownership of our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality compliance across my clients two production sites. This is a key role within the business, ensuring operations not only meet but exceed industry standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

My client is a family-run, leading provider of innovative print and point-of-sale (POS) solutions, delivering high-quality retail displays, signage and promotional materials for major brands and retailers, with over 130 years of history and expertise. 

As the business continues to grow and strengthen its sustainability and quality credentials, the SHEQ Advisor will play a pivotal role in maintaining current certifications and leading the business towards new accreditations, all while keeping a safe and healthy working environment.



Key Responsibilities

Quality & Environmental Compliance

  • Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 quality management system.

  • Lead the ongoing EcoVadis sustainability assessment process and drive improvements in performance.

  • Manage the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Chain of Custody compliance, ensuring all procedures and documentation are up to standard.

  • Support progression towards BRC accreditation, ensuring systems and practices meet the requirements for food-safe production environments.

Ethical & Supply Chain Standards

  • Oversee compliance with Sedex requirements and ensure ethical, responsible business practices are embedded across the organisation.

Health & Safety

  • Maintain and improve H&S standards across both sites, ensuring full compliance with legislation and best practice.

  • Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments and inspections.

  • Ensure all safety notices, documentation and training are up to date and in place.

  • Work with department managers to drive a strong safety culture, encouraging safe behaviours at all levels.



What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a SHEQ role, ideally within manufacturing, print, POS or a similar production environment within an SME.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards, environmental assessments, and ethical compliance systems.

  • Experience with FSC, EcoVadis, BRC or Sedex frameworks is highly advantageous.

  • Confident in conducting audits, producing reports, and guiding teams on compliance improvements.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously across two busy sites.

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to influence, support and educate colleagues on best practice.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent (desirable)

You'll join a close-knit team of five, working at the point where engineering meets commercial: preparing quotations for machine upgrades and conversions, and supporting the spare parts quotation process that keeps their customers' equipment running. This is a busy, varied administration role at the heart of a service department - ideal for someone organised, proactive and confident dealing with customers.
