What You’ll Be Doing

Partnering & Recruitment

  • Build strong relationships with leaders across multiple sites, ensuring workforce planning supports operational needs.

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment, from advertising through to onboarding.

  • Manage and negotiate with temporary labour providers to ensure value and compliance.

  • Play a key role in developing engineering talent through apprenticeships and early careers pathways.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a go-to expert for complex disciplinary, grievance, and absence matters.

  • Coach managers to handle ER issues confidently and consistently.

  • Support initiatives to improve engagement, morale, productivity, and retention.

Training & Development

  • Ensure the performance and appraisal process is embedded and effective.

  • Identify training needs and both design and deliver development programmes.

  • Mentor HR team members in training delivery and capability building.

  • Oversee and maintain all training compliance through Workday LMS.

Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

  • Oversee pay, benefits, and life/health schemes.

  • Manage accurate and timely payroll submissions.

  • Monitor absence, turnover, and wellbeing metrics - escalating complex cases where required.

  • Act as a Workday super-user and champion HR systems best practice.

  • Lead on HR policy development and monthly people analytics reporting.

A Key Player in HR Leadership

You’ll act as deputy for the Head of HR when needed - a fantastic development opportunity for someone aiming to progress toward HR management in the future.


What We’re Looking For

  • CIPD Level 7 (Master’s in HR or equivalent preferred).

  • Strong experience within manufacturing or engineering environments.

  • Proven expertise in complex ER.

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.

  • Analytical, proactive, and genuinely passionate about improving people processes.

  • Confident user of MS Office and Workday HRIS.
