About the Role

Cubed Talent are proud to be partnering with a market-leading, design-to-order engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Quality Control Engineer. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring machines leave the factory meeting the highest standards of quality, reliability and customer expectation.

Acting as the voice of the customer during Factory PDI and Buy-Offs, you will play a key role in protecting product integrity while driving improvements across assembly, supplier quality and internal processes.

If you’re a technically strong quality professional with a background in complex mechanical engineering and a passion for continuous improvement, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact.

The Opportunity

As Quality Control Engineer, you will work within the Assembly Inspection team to ensure final product quality prior to customer testing and sign-off. You’ll support the ongoing development of business processes and product quality by identifying improvement opportunities and helping implement effective change.

This role combines hands-on inspection, root cause investigation and cross-functional collaboration — ensuring that quality is built into processes, not just inspected at the end.

Key Responsibilities

You will ensure final product quality prior to customer testing, acting as the voice of the customer during factory PDI and Buy-Offs, and promoting a culture where process owners take accountability for quality performance. You will drive problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives, reducing the cost of poor quality, investigating non-conformances, and improving right-first-time performance across assembly and supplied parts.

You will support supplier quality and complaint processes, assist Purchasing in developing supply chain capability, and contribute to PPAP and supplier performance management. Additionally, you will monitor and report on Quality KPIs, support internal audits of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001 & 14001), and provide analysis to inform senior leadership decision-making.

What You’ll Bring

You'll have a minimum 5 years’ experience within a complex design-to-order engineering organisation, operating within a Quality-focused engineering role. Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and process control techniques, strong working knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and production techniques and experience diagnosing manufacturing faults and non-conformance issues are all important pre-requisites. Ideally you will hold HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and have formal Quality training (e.g., CQI / IRCA trained auditor) but experience will be considered without formal qualifications.

Technical Knowledge & Expertise

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 fundamentals

  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, sand/die casting

  • Understanding of SPC and Lean Manufacturing techniques

  • Awareness of electrical and pneumatic systems

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring product excellence within a technically demanding, precision-led manufacturing environment. You’ll work at the interface of Engineering, Assembly and Supply Chain — influencing quality performance and driving meaningful improvement.
