About You:
You'll be apprentice trained and qualified to HNC / Degree level in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering. You'll have solid experience on Siemens NX CAD - Solid Modelling and drafting / 3D solid modelling package and knowledge of manufacturing processes to ensure component and assembly drawings are designed for manufacture and cost effective. Ideally you will have worked to BS8888 standards and have strong working knowledge of trackwork and conveyance design / complex special purpose machinery design and/or high-speed and bespoke machinery.

Duties:
- Produce all 3D models and associated 2D manufacturing drawings
- Be involved in the development of new conveyance innovations
- Interpret and determine customer requirements for machine and trackwork integration.
- Design and produce 3D CAD models and assemblies using Siemens NX CAD package.
- Produce 2D technical drawings to support the manufacture and assembly of parts for prototypes, machine contracts and equipment orders
- Responsible for the creation of accurate BOM’s for prototypes & customer orders, which in turn determines the Manufacturing and Supply Chain function’s work schedule.
- Collaborate in the design of new parts and continuous development of existing parts / equipment to ensure competitive edge.
- Be responsible for prototype testing, working with NPD team to evaluate and report on performance.
- Complete mechanical specification confirmation documents for machine orders.
- Provide technical support to the Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions with any manufacturing related queries as required.
- Work with supply chain & sales depts to ensure commercial viability
About You:

The main purpose of the role is the creation of process plans from technical drawings - duties including:
Conduct Make/Buy Analysis to determine the most cost-effective manufacturing approach.
Review and resolve Corrective Actions, Engineering Change Notices, and Enterprise Change Requests raised against the department.
Represent the department in technical review meetings, including Material Review Board and Corrective Action discussions.
Review and update obsolete Process Plans to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Perform data analysis and cleansing to improve process accuracy and decision-making.
Create Standard Operating Procedures, charts, forms, and tables as required.
Raise and manage Purchase Requisitions to support production needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role within a precision engineering environment, be proficient in interpreting technical drawings and developing effective manufacturing plans, have in depth knowledge of Bill of Materials and the ability to determine suitable materials, machine tools and optimal work-holding methods for efficiency and precision. Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets, extract key insights, and summarise results effectively is also an important skill set for this role.

About the role:
The purpose of the role is to provide technical support to all levels of the business and customers alike, making key technical decisions and assisting in the review of new products for manufacture, providing a robust process for internal manufacturing.
Establish work holding and cutting tool requirements, produce process plans, interpret 3D models through CAM system, create CNC part programs, probing logic, post process, simulate code before release to production where applicable, provide clear instructions on manufacturing method.
Duties include:
Assist in Make / Buy Decision when required.
Evaluate part Drawings/Models for internal manufacture.
Design a method of manufacture for each operation, including work holding.
Provide clear process plan for manufacturing sequence.
Select cost effective and suitable tooling.
Apply cutter paths using CAM software.
Apply probing logic where appropriate.
Produce setup sheet and tool build documentation.
NC simulation using Vericut / Veri-prog / Mazak Smooth / Heidenhain TNC
Provide support on initial prove out of method on Machining centre.
Creation of SOPs for production processes.
Maintenance of existing programs and documentation.
Provide continuous support on technical queries.
Promote continuous improvement of legacy manufacturing processes.
Prepare quotations for Sub-contracting internal capabilities.
Lead capital investment projects where there is a requirement.
About you:
The successful candidate will hold formal technical qualifications (ONC or above) in Mechanical Engineering and have experience in a similar role with considerable experience in engineered part manufacture and metal working processes. You'll have a a strong understanding of material properties. Ideally you will have experience within the machinery manufacturing sector or with wide metal working process experience. Proficiency in CAD & CAM – 3D CAD is essential – Siemens NX preferred, proficiency in G-Code programs, both reading and editing, is preferred. A good understanding of probing logic would also be beneficial.
